Harare: Pakistan men’s team head coach Misbah-ul-Haq is confident that the spin department will do well in the absence of leg-spinner Yasir Shah in the upcoming Zimbabwe Tests. While selecting the squad for the tour, Chief Selector Mohammad Wasim revealed that Yasir is suffering from a niggle in his knee.
The team management have to choose one from Zahid Mehmood and Sajid Khan to pair with Nauman Ali for the two Tests at Harare Sports Club.
“Our confidence level is good after winning the home series against South Africa so we hope to carry that good performance,” Misbah told media.
“Yes, we don’t have Yasir but the back-up spinners, like Sajid and Mahmood, are good and in the absence of Yasir they have a good opportunity to perform.”
It must be noted that Pakistan won the three-match T20I series by 2-1. The Test series starts tomorrow.
