Lahore: Pakistan men’s team head coach and chief selector Misbah-ul-Haq has expressed his regrets over not meeting expectations and not producing desired results as a coach and as a team during the England tour where they played three-Test and as many T20Is.
While speaking to the reporters in Lahore, however, despite losing Misbah said that the team have identified positive things from the tour. “On the tour, we should have won the Test series 1-0 and T20 series 2-0. The results of the series will always be regretted but despite it, we have found a lot of positive things,” Misbah said.
Decline in T20I rankings
Misbah refused to accept that the rankings of the men’s team decline during his tenure and reminded that the team was on a losing streak before his appointment.
“When I took over the coaching, the performance of our T20 team was going down. We lost to South Africa, England. The main aspect of declining was the performances of our main players,” he said.
“We are trying to push new players towards it and how they played in the T20 series against England. These are the signs that we are going in the right direction,” he added.
Young bowling line-up
Misbah wants that they should give time and leverage to young bowling line-up in Test cricket. “We have to understand that our bowling is inexperienced.
