CHENGDU: Thanks to a recently launched volunteer project, residents of a remote town in southwest China’s Sichuan Province have been able to consult locally with leading medical experts from elite hospitals in big cities free of charge.
A group of 10 doctors and nurses from Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Chongqing and Urumqi, all winners of previous national role model doctor and nurse selections, joined dozens of local physicians at a consulting fair on Thursday to mark the launch of the project.
On Friday, the experts visited local hospitals to share their experience. –Agencies
