ISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior and Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi extended New Year greetings to the nation and conveyed his best wishes.
He stated that in 2025, every possible effort was made to create conveniences in the lives of the people. The mission of serving the public will continue in 2026 with even greater energy and commitment.
Mohsin Naqvi said that 2025 was a historic year for Pakistan in terms of defense. Under the courageous leadership of Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal General Asim Munir, the Pakistan Army humbled a much stronger enemy. The Shaheens of the Pakistan Air Force delivered a crushing defeat to the enemy, and the entire nation demonstrated exemplary unity and solidarity.
He paid tribute to the brave sons who sacrificed their lives for the defense of the country and for maintaining peace in 2025. The foundations of Pakistan have been strengthened time and again by the precious blood of its martyrs.
Mohsin Naqvi added that to move Pakistan forward on the path of peace, stability, and prosperity, every challenge will be faced with determination, courage, and unity.
He further stated that in 2025, Pakistan achieved success in cricket and other sports, reflecting the hard work of its players. The successful hosting of the ICC Champions Trophy was a victory for a peaceful and secure Pakistan.
The return of cricket to Faisalabad after 17 years not only excited the fans but also highlighted the professional management of the PCB on the global stage. The safe conduct of the Sri Lanka series and the Tri-Nation series in Islamabad after the blast was a major test, successfully accomplished due to the tireless efforts of the security forces.
These achievements became a strong milestone in Pakistan cricket’s journey in 2025.
In the new year, full attention will be given to making Pakistan cricket more stable, organized, and sustainable. A strong link between domestic and international cricket will be established to further elevate standards. Players showing high performance will be encouraged and supported on the basis of merit.
During 2026, stadium upgrades, improved facilities, and the inclusion of new venues will be a priority. Mohsin Naqvi conveyed his best wishes for further achievements and improved performance of the national team in upcoming events.
He stated that, God willing, 2026 will be a year that strengthens Pakistan cricket’s status on the global stage and enhances its prestige.
