More sections to be added in couple torture FIR: DIG

ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops have announced to add more sections to the FIR in couple assault case after reveations of new facts during the case investigation.
DIG Operations Afzaal Ahmed Kousar told the media here on Monday that in light of the new facts emerged during the investigation, cps have decided to add more sections that include 375A/375D PPC, 384 PPC, 342 PPC, 114 PPC, 395 PPC, 496A and 377B to the initial FIR 442/2021 registered at PS Golra Sharif, in addition to the existing ones pertaining to crime as dacoity and extortion. Kausar said that the accused could get a death sentence or life imprisonment for the crime they committed against the couple. He said that mobile phones of the main accused in the case, Usman Mirza have been recovered and are being sent for forensic test. He said the statement of the couple has also been recorded. SSP Investigation Atta-ur-Rehman and SSP Operations Dr. Syed Mustafa Tanveer were also present during the press conference at the Police Lines Headquarters.
DIG told the media that six including the main accused have so far been arrested in the case. The arrested crooks remain Muhammad Usman Mirza, Farhan Khan, Atta-ur-Rehman, Adaras Butt, Umar Bilal and Mohib Khan. He was of the view that with the addition of new sections to the FIR, the case against the accused has become stronger. He said a case was has also been registered against Usman Mirza at PS Sihala. He said that any person aggrieved by any act of the accused in this case may approach the police high-ups for action against the abettors.
He told the media that according to the couple, Usman Mirza also extorted money from them. He said that the police were also investigating on who uploaded the video on social media. He said that the brother of Usman Mirza was also involved in the crime and cops were trying to locate him. DIG promised that no one supporting the accused would be spared. He said that on the directives of IGP Islamabad Qazi Jamil-ur-Rehman, the investigation is being carried out by a special investigation team led by a SSP level officer as he showed his commitment to bring the culprits to justice.
