MQM-P offers conditional support to Imran Khan

From Zeeshan Mirza

KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) convener Dr Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui on Sunday said MQM will support Imran if he proved a foreign conspiracy had been hatched against him.
While addressing an Iftar party at Liaquatbad, Khalid said Imran Khan’s last day rally proved that he is using a conspiracy card to get the dominion.
The leader of MQM Pakistan said that he joined hands with Imran Khan to seek justice not to get any authority. The present government has asked for the last chance to recover the missing persons which should be given to them, he added.
MQM convener demanded from the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahbaz Sharif to form a judicial commission and prove that there was no conspiracy to make him the Prime Minister.
If our agreement is not implemented then we will not wait longer. Then the opposition benches are waiting for us.
The offer from MQM-P comes during a deadlock between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PMLN) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) remained over the formation of the federal cabinet, while PPP has demanded four governors and constitutional posts from PMLN.
According to sources, despite the passage of one week, the federal cabinet could not be formed.
PPP also demanded four governors and three key ministries in the federal cabinet along with constitutional posts from PMLN government.
Meanwhile, ANP has sought the post of Governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Mian Iftikhar Hussain.
On the other hand, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam and Balochistan Awami Party have demanded the post of Governor of Balochistan.
PMLN has claimed that consultations with Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam on the federal cabinet have been completed and talks with the allied parties are ongoing.
PMLN passed the indication of a breakthrough soon.
