ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration staff arrested a murder suspect at Islamabad International Airport while he was attempting to flee the country. The accused, identified as Qalandar, was arrested when he tried to travel to Thailand.
He said the accused was wanted by Dagar Police Station, Buner, in a murder case and his name had already been placed on the stop list, leading to his interception at the airport. The official added that after completing necessary legal formalities, FIA Immigration Islamabad handed over the accused to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police for further legal proceedings.
The FIA reaffirmed its resolve to prevent wanted criminals from escaping abroad and to assist law-enforcement agencies in bringing offenders to justice.
