BEIJING: China is set to experience widespread rainfall and a temperature drop in the coming days, coinciding with the peak of the National Day holiday return travel, according to the National Meteorological Center.
Yang Shunan, chief forecaster at the center, said that from Tuesday night to Thursday, regions including eastern Gansu, southern Ningxia, northern Shaanxi, the southern-central parts of Inner Mongolia, and some parts of North China will experience moderate to heavy rain.
In the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, sustained rainfall and low temperatures are expected from Wednesday to Friday, with moderate to heavy showers across many areas. The steady rain is likely to persist for several hours, leading to significant accumulation, according to the forecast.
Parts of Guizhou, Yunnan, Guangxi, Sichuan and other regions are also expected to see heavy rainfall in the coming days.
These weather conditions are likely to impact return journeys during the eight-day National Day holiday, which runs through Oct 8.
Authorities have urged the public to stay updated on weather forecasts, take necessary precautions, and adjust travel plans as needed. –The Daily Mail-China Daily news exchange item
