KARACHI: National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) defeated Water And Power Development Authority (WAPDA) by 2-1 to win the 3rd Chief of the Naval Staff (CNS) All Pakistan Hockey Tournament here at Abdul Sattar Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.
In a glittering final contest attended by CNS Admiral Muhammad Amjad Khan Niazi, NBP successfully defended their title and crowned the champions for the third time in a row.
Following a 1-0 lead from WAPDA, NBP bounced back in the third and fourth quarters to seal the victory in the tournament with a final score reading 2-1.
Champion team, NBP received a cash prize of PKR 1.7 Million followed by WAPDA bagging PKR 1.3 Million. Third position holder, Pakistan Navy received a cash prize of PKR 1.3 Million.
Dilbar of NBP was declared man-of-the-tournament followed by Muhammad Iqbal who was named the best Goalkeeper of the event.
