ISLAMABAD: On the directions of Inspector General National Highways and Motorways Police Khalid Mahmood, a new enforcement regime has been launched on Motorways.
According to NHMP, over-speeding vehicles are being chased and penalized with heavy fines, adding that deployment of spotters and use of technology to ensure strict enforcement of the law on Motorways, said a video message shared by NHMP.
Violators will be identified by using intelligently deployed spotters, next-generation speed cameras and drone cameras.
Over speeding motorists will face heavy fines and patrol cars have been instructed to chase and apprehend violators if needed. Violations in lane discipline will be rigorously monitored and fined.
All Motorway Police field officers are also equipped with body-worn cameras that transmit live footage to a state-of-the-art command center, ensuring transparency and confidence.
Evading the fine will no longer be a possibility; NHMP will pursue legal actions against habitual offenders.
Rawal Dam Interchange to be completed by August
ISLAMABAD: The construction work on Rawal Dam Chowk Interchange was in full swing and likely to be completed by August 2022.
The work on laying off the overhead deck slab was in progress while concrete laying work was being completed at fast pace, said spokesman of Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday.
The project had three deck slabs for the flyover, one of which had already been completed while the other was finished the other day. The last deck slab will also be completed in the next two weeks.
Similarly, he said, other works including filling on the walls were accelerated which will be completed by the end of August and opened for traffic.
The construction work on underpasses and other loops was also near completion.
It may be recalled that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had recently visited the project and directed the CDA to complete the project by September 2022.–Agencies
