ISLAMABAD: IGP Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, visited various checkpoints in the federal capital.
IGP Islamabad met with appointed police officers and officials at the check posts and instructed them to wear protective gear during duty hours and to interact politely with civilians during checking.
He emphasized the completion of all checkpoints and issued instructions to senior police officers to install security cameras at all checkpoints and provide basic facilities. He further stated that all checkpoints in Islamabad will be fully equipped and decorated within 48 hours.
IGP appointed Night Patrolling Officers throughout the district based. The notifications for the appointments of Night Patrolling Officers have also been issued in this regard. Moreover, night patrolling officers of ASI rank have been appointed in all areas of police stations. Young police officers will also be appointed alongside these Night Patrolling Officers.
The IGP Islamabad stated that the purpose of this initiative was to curb crime in the city.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi issued a wireless message for the police force. He said that Islamabad Police is the force of martyrs, warriors, and professionals. He has always tackled law and order and all kinds of challenges professionally. “We will all come together and patrol the streets to ensure the people sleep peacefully.”
He further said that all police officers and officials should be 100% alert and perform their duty, combat crimes, arrest all criminals and court absconders, and ensure effective anti-drug measures in the federal capital. Moreover, all police officers especially Dolphin Force officers and officials should ensure their presence among the people and protect their lives, property, and honor.
He added that together we will make this city a bastion of peace, ease for them, Allah will create ease for you. At the end of his message, he said that I expect all police officers and officials to fulfill all the demands of public service and use all their resources to protect the citizens.
IGP conducted an important meeting with officers of the Operations Division also. DIG Operations, SSPs, SPs, SDPOs, and all SHOs participated. IGP Islamabad stated that all police officers should perform policing with human emotions. If any police officer is not taking an interest in duty, they will not be part of the department.
He said, “You all are extremely valuable to me, and each of my officers is my pride. Together, we will serve the public 24/7. Our work is to eradicate crime.” He further stated that all police officers should work courageously in the jurisdictions of martyrs.
Moreover, DIG Operations and SSP Operations are present for your command. Night patrolling officers are being appointed across the district to make the patrol system more effective.
He instructed all police officers to uphold the oath they took while wearing the uniform. “We are here to respect people,” he said. IGP Islamabad issued directives to convert all police stations into special initiative police stations.
He said that a seven-day special campaign should be started to eliminate crimes. All police officers will target criminal groups and expedite crackdowns on drug trafficking and a special campaign will be launched against professional beggars.
At the end of the meeting, he said that the soreness of corruption will never be tolerated and I will always be available to the public.
He also visited Security Division, where he received briefings from senior police officers regarding diplomatic protocols and security division matters.
IGP Islamabad emphasized strengthening inter-agency cooperation and prioritizing community policing. He directed for the expedited progress and improvement of developmental and welfare affairs within the security division.
Furthermore, ensuring the protection of national and international dignitaries and state institutions was underscored. He further stated that the Special Protection Unit should be activated. Psychological profiling will be conducted in the security division and efforts will be made to address the shortage of personnel. Senior police officers were instructed to conduct a comprehensive review of all security systems and to enhance security measures.
At a separate occasion, also yesterday, IGP chaired an important meeting at the Traffic Police Headquarters.
During the meeting, IGP Islamabad issued directives, stating that Islamabad Traffic Police will build a theme park, recruit friends and volunteers, and make special hirings for the Traffic Police. Orders were issued to provide services for online learner, renewal and driving licenses at all police stations.
The education team of Islamabad Traffic Police will be activated and a campaign against wrong-side driving will be intensified while actions against vehicles with fancy number plates and tinted glasses will be expedited. Actions will also be taken against drivers without licenses.
IGP Islamabad issued directives for public facilitation highlighting that all police officers should pay attention to public facilities related to traffic. Mobile services related to traffic police will be provided at educational institutions and important locations.
Furthermore, collaboration with market committees will be sought to eradicate illegal parking from important commercial areas. All government vehicles will be equipped with trackers.
Islamabad Traffic Police FM Radio will be further activated and the welfare of officers serving on duty on the roads will be improved. He asserted that encouragement will be given to officers who demonstrate the best performance. At the end of the meeting, IGP Islamabad issued a message for all police officers and personnel, saying, “We are here to facilitate the citizens of Islamabad. We are not just good; we are striving to be the best.”
At a separate occasion, he met senior police officers at CPO. He held meetings with the DIG Operations, AIG Operations, SSP Operations, and SP CTD at the Central Police Office Islamabad.
IGP Islamabad emphasized the utilization of all available resources of Islamabad Police for public welfare and safety. He instructed for the swift resolve of citizens’ complaints in police stations and for courteous behavior with citizens visiting police stations to address their issues and complaints.
Moreover, ensuring the dignity and protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the top priority of Islamabad Capital Police. He also directed the timely completion of the construction of Capital Police Hospital, not only to provide timely medical treatment and facilities to police officers and their families but also to enable the residents of Islamabad to benefit from standard healthcare services. Special instructions were issued for the welfare of the families of martyrs to senior police officers.
IGP also met with electronic media journalists at the Central Police Office Islamabad.
IGP Islamabad expressed gratitude to all journalists and informed that Islamabad Police is taking initiatives to promote community policing in the federal capital.
Moreover, special measures are being taken to provide citizens with all possible facilities and to combat crimes. He said, “I am confident that as a leader, you can provide public services in various ways. Our intention is to provide relief to the people and to combat crime.”
He further informed the journalists that Islamabad Police are taking comprehensive measures to ensure the protection of officers and officials.
All officers and officials will be provided with protective gear, and senior police officers will be held accountable if they fail to act on complaints.
All officials will be trained, and all officers will have to work extensively for the protection of the public. He emphasized his availability at all times for officers, officials, and the public.
He stated that effective patrolling has been increased in the city to reduce crime during peak times. Effective patrolling and police presence at public places will help people sleep peacefully.
Police officers will actively apprehend more criminals, fugitives, and wanted individuals, and federal criminals will be expelled. Hundred percent crackdown against extortion groups in the city will be ensured along with improving traffic flow and increasing duty at sensitive locations.
He asserted that the special protection unit is increasing its personnel and qualified officials will be appointed in the SPUs regarding measures for the protection of foreigners. Additionally, under the supervision of senior police officers, the establishment of a unit will also be implemented.
