Auckland: New Zealand cricket team players and support staff have been put under 14-day self-isolation after their return from Australia amid the coronavirus pandemic.
New Zealand Cricket (NZC) on Thursday confirmed that all the 15 players and staff members who returned from Sydney last weekend have been under lockdown.
NZC public affairs manager said that the team have followed instructions of NZ prime minister Jacinda Ardern. “Black Caps players and touring staff have all gone into self-isolation. We’ve passed on all the details about what self-isolation means and as far as we know they’re all following it strictly.”
It must be noted that New Zealand was in Australia to play Chappel Hadlee series and played first ODI but later the remaining two ODIs were postponed due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
