ISLAMABAD: Capital Cops on Friday caught 11 outlaws including nine gamblers from various areas of the city and recovered wine, cash, gambling tools, narcotic and weapons from their possession.
According to details, following the directives of IGP Islamabad Muhammad Aamir Zulfqar Khan and DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed, all officials of Capital Cops have accelerated their efforts to curb activities of anti-social elements and drug pushers.
Thus, at a tip off, SP Rural Malik Naeem Iqbal constituted a special team under the supervision of DSP Qasim Niazi, SHO Koral Asjad Mehmood and SI along with others, for raiding a gambling den.
The given team raided the den and nabbed nine gamblers later identified as Rashid Mehmood, Sarjad Ali, Wasif Hussain, Raja Sheriz,Muhammad Shahzad, Chan Mehmood, Zulfqar, Mohsin Ali and Muhammad Shan. Cops’ team also recovered stake money and gambling tools from their possession. Cops’ teams also arrested a drug peddler namely Muhammad Ibrahim and recovered 1080 grams hashish from him. Meanwhile, PS Ramana apprehended accused Allah Dad and recovered one SMG rifle and one 9mm pistol along with ammunition from him. Separate cases have been registered against the nabbed accused while further investigation is underway from them. DIG Operations Waqar-ud-Din Syed has appreciated the performance while directing all SHOs for effective crackdown against those involved in drug peddling activities. He asked for renewed efforts to curb such practices and get rid of society from such menace.
He said that performance in this regard would be reviewed on continuous basis. The DIG also categorically asked all police officials to focus on resolving public complaints and take every possible step to provide maximum relief to citizens.
