LAHORE: The Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco) has made special arrangements to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity during the Eidul Azha holidays. Lesco Board of Directors Chairman Hafiz Mian Muhammad Nauman said the company would provide continuous power supply across the region during the Eid holidays.
Lesco category one and two will be completely exempted from loadshedding. The category three to four with high losses will face loadshedding upto three to four hours.
Lesco Chief Executive Shahid Haider said the consumers should not tie their sacrificial animals to electric the poles and wires and stay away from electrical installations in case of power outage due to monsoon. While in Karachi, the duration of loadshedding has been extended up to 8 to 10 hours as electricity shortfall has reached 6,598 megawatts.
Various areas of the megalopolis are experiencing extraordinary loadshedding. The residents of Korangi Crossing, Civil Lines, Bhittai Colony, Lines Area, Nazimabad, Shah Faisal, Gulistan e Johar, Gulshan e Iqbal, Keamari and Maripur are suffering from extended hours of power cuts.
Citizens in extreme distress. Other cities of Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan are also suffering from loadshedding in excruciating hot weather.
