Notorious drug peddling couple busted

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi the Islamabad Police continue their indiscriminate operations against accused involved in drug trafficking within the federal capital.

In this regard, the Sangjani police team have arrested a couple red-handed for their involvement in drug smuggling under the guise of family travel. The accused were identified as Raheem Gul and Zeba. Police team also recovered 2612 gram hashish from their possession.
During the preliminary investigation the accused confessed to supplying narcotics to youth, particularly students. Additionally, the duo was smuggling drugs from Peshawar to Islamabad and selling them in suburban areas including Sarai Kharbooza, Dhok Abbasi and Dhok Tuman.
Moreover, the Islamabad Police teams are actively working to dismantle the broader supply chain linked to the accused.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Islamabad Shakir Hussain Dawar said that the crackdown against drug dealers involved in corrupting the youth will continue.
He also appealed to citizens to cooperate with the police and immediately report any suspicious activity or item to the nearest police station or through the emergency helpline “Pukar-15.”
