NUST, Chinese Medical College set path to academic cooperation under BRI

ISLAMABAD: The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan and Chongqing Three Gorges Medical College, China have agreed to move toward formal academic collaboration following the participation of a NUST faculty member in an international medical technology program, the university said in a statement issued on January 7.
The development emerged during the visit of Dr. Amer Sohail Kashif, an associate professor from the Department of Biomedical Engineering & Sciences (BMES), School of Mechanical & Manufacturing Engineering, NUST. Dr. Kashif represented the university in a 15-day International Advanced Medical Technology Training Program hosted by the Chinese institution under Belt and Road Initiative.
According to NUST, the fully sponsored program culminated in a proposal for a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the university and the host institution.
The proposed agreement would “open avenues for faculty and student exchange, joint research, academic collaboration, and enhanced Pakistan-China cooperation in medical education and healthcare innovation.” –Agencies
