ISLAMABAD: National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) is conducting a 5-day training program for 75 Coding Fellows in a collaboration with Ministry of Federal Education and Professional Training, divided into two sessions of 40 fellows each.
According to the Education Ministry, the objective of the project is to equip talented individuals to teach coding and AI skills to government primary school students in Islamabad, bridging the digital divide and fostering early-age tech literacy.
Sharing the details of training overview, the ministry said that the focus areas of training are pedagogy for primary school students, coding fundamentals (block-based programming, Scratch), the lesson planning and delivery and classroom management.
However, as per details of the expected outcomes including the trained coding fellows will teach coding skills to 1,50+ primary school students, the improved digital literacy among Islamabad’s youth, enhanced problem-solving and critical thinking skills and potential pipeline for future tech talent.
This project demonstrates ministry of Federal Education s commitment to community development, education, and technological advancement, it added.
