Official results of SCBA elections announced

ISLAMABAD: The official results of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) elections for 2025–26 have been announced, confirming a sweeping victory for the Asma Jahangir Group, which secured a clear majority across key positions.
According to the official statement issued on Tuesday, Advocate Haroon-ur-Rashid was elected President of the SCBA after securing 1,898 votes, while Malik Zahid Aslam Awan won the seat of Secretary with 1,915 votes.
Other successful candidates from the Asma Jahangir Group include Liaquat Ali Tareen (1,853 votes) as Vice President for Balochistan, Fazal Shah Muhammad (1,740 votes) as Vice President for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Khalid Masood Sindhu (1,882 votes) as Vice President for Punjab, and Saira Khalid Rajput (2,049 votes) as Finance Secretary. Sardar Tariq Hussain (1,835 votes) was elected Additional Secretary.
From Balochistan, Elahi Bakhsh Mengal (1,850 votes) and Shah Rasool Kakar (1,748 votes) were elected to the Executive Committee, while from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Muhammad Ziaullah (1,600 votes) and Raheela Bibi (1,849 votes) secured their places. From Punjab, Hafiza Mehnaz Nadeem won with 1,979 votes.
The only candidate from the Hamid Khan Group to secure a seat was Malik Khushal Khan Awan, who won as Vice President for Sindh with 1,612 votes. The Asma Jahangir Group also clinched all nine seats on the Executive Committee.
The Supreme Court Bar Association has officially confirmed the results. With this victory, the Asma Jahangir Group has once again consolidated its dominance over the bar’s central leadership, leaving the Hamid Khan Group with just one position.
