ISLAMABAD: The federal government on Tuesday increased the price of petrol by Rs1.19 per litre while reducing the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs1.91 per litre, following changes in international oil prices.
After the latest revision, petrol will be available at Rs394.83 per litre, while the price of HSD has been fixed at Rs395.85 per litre.
According to a notification issued by the Petroleum Division, the revised prices will remain effective for October 7. Ogra has also begun publishing daily petroleum prices on its website to improve transparency and allow changes in international oil prices to be passed on to consumers more quickly.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik said the daily prices are based on a seven-day average of international market prices, in line with international practice.
