ISLAMABAD: Civil Line Police Rawalpindi on Wednesday rescued an elderly woman held captive by son for three years over property dispute.
According to details, member Human Rights Committee Advocate Saleem Rana had moved a petition before session judge after which he had directed recovery of the woman. The Civil Line Police raided a house at Tulsa Road, Rawalpindi from which, an elderly woman identified as Shamin Akhtar, held captive by son for over three years was rescued.
The rescue woman told that her elder son wanted to get a property in Kasur transferred in his name for which she was held captive for more than three years.
“I was not allowed to meet anyone and my all activities were monitored round-the-clock,†she informed. On appeal of the woman, District and Session Judge Tariq Javed allowed her to go with her younger son Hassan Raja.
