Outstanding Chinese medical workers honored at Hunan event

BEIJING: Thirty doctors and nurses have been recognized for their outstanding contributions at the “China’s Good Doctors and Good Nurses” 2025 event in Changsha, Hunan province.
Thursday’s ceremony included interviews, documentaries and stage performances, highlighting the touching stories of a number of Chinese medical professionals.
Among those interviewed was Li Zan, director of the Department of Oncology Plastic Surgery at Hunan Cancer Hospital, who has introduced advanced cancer treatments to hospitals in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
Zhu Huifang, a nurse from Huzhou, Zhejiang province, shared her experiences working in Africa as part of the Chinese medical aid mission, where local children affectionately called her “Chinese Mom” due to her compassionate care.
Since its inception in 2017, the “China’s Good Doctors and Good Nurses” program has recognized more than 1,100 individuals and 15 teams, with a total of 24 events held across various cities.
Earlier on Thursday, a large-scale clinic was organized in a park in Changsha as part of the program.
A volunteer team of renowned doctors and nurses provided services to more than 900 residents free of charge. –The Daily Mail-China Daily news exchange item
