ISLAMABAD: In line with the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police has taken legal action without discrimination against traffic rules violators. In this regard, during the ongoing year Islamabad Traffic Police took strict legal action against 10,479 drivers for not wearing seat belts while driving.
Alongside this, legal proceedings against other traffic law violators are also ongoing.
Additionally, the Islamabad Traffic Police is continuously engaged in efforts to protect the lives and property of citizens and to provide all possible travel facilities by taking strict action against lawbreakers in the federal capital.
Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Captain (retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider stated that all police officers have been given special instructions to ensure the restoration of a coordinated traffic system in the city and to control traffic accidents so that the safety of public lives and property can be guaranteed.
He further directed police officers to interact with the public politely and patiently and to intensify indiscriminate action against violators of the law.
In this regard, the Islamabad Traffic Police education wing is also actively educating citizens on road safety and traffic regulations to help prevent traffic accidents in the city.
