Over 2.5m vehicles entered Capital during Eid holidays

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Riszvi the Islamabad Traffic Police ensured effective traffic management during the days of Eid-ul-Fitr in the federal capital.
Under the supervision of Chief Traffic Officer Islamabad Captain (Retd) Syed Zeeshan Haider the Islamabad Traffic Police carried out a vigorous crackdown against violators of traffic laws during Eid-ul-Fitr.
In this regard, over 1,700 bikers involved in wheelies, reckless driving and riding without silencers were subjected to legal action. Additionally, more than 500 motorcycles were impounded in different police stations.
During the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays, approximately 2.5 million vehicles entered Islamabad with an average of 850,000 motorcycles and cars heading to various recreational spots.
More than 75,000 vehicles entered Islamabad en route to Murree. The Islamabad Traffic Police provided excellent travel facilities to tourists ensuring they faced no difficulties. Additionally, only families were allowed entry into public parks to ensure a peaceful and safe environment.
CTO Islamabad stated that no leniency would be shown towards wheelers, reckless drivers or those violating traffic rules. He warned the bikers to avoid such illegal and dangerous acts that pose a threat to their own and others lives. During Eid, more than 500 traffic police officers were deployed on the streets for the convenience of the citizens. Due to the excellent arrangements made by the traffic police no unpleasant incidents occurred in the federal capital.
CTO Islamabad assured the public that the Islamabad Traffic Police is taking all possible measures to provide safe, comfortable, and organized traffic facilities. He appealed to the citizens to fully adhere to traffic laws and maintain discipline.
