Over 3,000 cop personnel deployed for Youm-e-Ali security

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police have secured foolproof security arrangements for Youm-e-Ali (RA) to ensure the safety of processions and religious gatherings in the federal capital. In this regard, more than 3,000 police officers and personnel performed security duties.
According to details, on the special directions of DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq, a comprehensive security plan has been devised for the processions and majalis being held on the occasion of Youm-e-Ali.
Over 3,000 police officers and personnel have been deployed to maintain law and order and ensure the safety of participants.
Participants were allowed to join the processions through designated routes only after passing through walk-through gates, metal detectors, and body search.
DIG Islamabad said that adjacent streets and lanes along the procession routes were sealed, while snipers have been deployed on rooftops of buildings along the procession routes to strengthen security. He further stated that special checks are carried out at all entry and exit points of the city, while senior police officers remain present in the field to review security arrangements and brief the deployed personnel.
Traffic police officers also perform their duties in order to ensure smooth traffic flow and facilitate citizens during the occasion.
DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq reiterated that protecting the lives and property of citizens remains the top priority of Islamabad Police.
