ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, a comprehensive security plan has been formulated by Islamabad Police to ensure foolproof security at masjids and religious gatherings on the occasion of Eid Milad-un-Nabi.
Under this plan, over 3,000 officers will be deployed for security duties. All police teams will patrol their respective areas, supervised by SDPOs and SHOs of the concerned police stations.
The zonal SPs will personally monitor all arrangements. Following this plan, strict security measures have been implemented in the federal capital, and all relevant SHOs have been instructed accordingly.
During the Eid Milad-un-Nabi celebrations, uniformed armed personnel, plainclothes officers, lady police officers, Dolphin Force, and female commandos will also perform their duties. Special duties have also been assigned to Islamabad Traffic Police officers to ensure smooth traffic flow. Citizens will be screened through walk-through gates and metal detectors.
The central procession of Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ will commence from Jamia Masjid Al-Raza G-7 Markaz, passing through various routes and will conclude at Darbar Sakhi Mahmood Badshah in Aabpara. Police officers will be stationed on both sides of all streets falling along the procession route.
Police personnel will also be deployed at all masjids and places of worship along the route. Parking of vehicles will be restricted away from the procession routes. Additionally, a separate security plan has been devised for Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ rallies and gatherings.
Strict checking is ongoing at all entry and exit points of the city. All items and areas along the route will be thoroughly inspected, and the bomb disposal squad will ensure safety by conducting checks in various areas.
DIG Islamabad Muhammad Jawad Tariq stated that the primary duty of the police is to ensure the protection of citizens’ lives and property, and Islamabad Police will utilize all available resources for this purpose.
He further emphasized that ensuring the safety of citizens and maintaining peace in the city are among the top priorities of Islamabad Police.
Citizens are also requested to stay vigilant of their surroundings and report any suspicious person or object immediately to helpline Pucar-15 or the nearest police station.
