ISLAMABAD: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi held an important meeting at the Central Police Office Islamabad. The meeting was attended by all divisional DIGs, AIGs, SSPs and SPs.
During the meeting, the DIGs briefed the IGP Islamabad on the city security measures and strategies against crime. During the eve and day of Eid-ul-Fitr more than 3500 officers and personnel will perform security duties in the federal capital.
On the occasion, IGP Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi emphasized that a robust security plan has been prepared for the markets, city security and crime control on eve of Eid-u;-Fitr.
Patrolling will take place on foot as well as by vehicles and motorcycles in the markets. Strict checking will be ensured at the entry and exit points of the city. He directed the officers to raise awareness among citizens traveling to other cities during Eid about the safety of their homes.
The security of important buildings and places of worship across the district will remain effective. Surprise checkpoints will be established in various areas of the city and checking will be made more efficient, he added.
Officers were advised to improve communication and exchange of information. The display of weapons will not be permitted under any circumstances and strict legal action will be taken against it. All patrolling units, Dolphin, Ababeel and Emergency Response Units will enhance patrolling in all areas of the city.
He further stated that the protection of citizens lives and property and providing them with every facility is our top priority. All officers must ensure checks and balances for their subordinate staff and encourage them.
At the same time, all possible measures will be taken for the welfare of the force during Eid. Our primary duty is to ensure the protection of the lives and property of the citizens of Islamabad as well as to maintain peace and order, IGP said.
