Over 4,000 officers deployed for Independence Day security

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, a comprehensive security plan has been formed for Independence Day.
As par the plan, over 4,000 officers and personnel of Islamabad Police will be on duty for security. Starting from the night of August 14, special police squads will be patrolling the city.
Special checkpoints have also been established at the entry and exit points of Islamabad. Activities like rowdy behavior, one-wheeling, aerial firing, and harassment will not be allowed. Strict legal action will be taken against any kind of illegal activity.
All necessary arrangements have been made to ensure the safety of citizens and families. A special traffic plan has also been issued for the major events of Independence Day.
IGP Islamabad has instructed all officers to remain present in their respective areas and to brief the police personnel deployed on security duties. Citizens are requested to celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm and to be considerate of others. Parents are advised to keep their children away from any illegal activities.
Islamabad Police will leave no stone unturned in ensuring your safety on this joyous occasion. Citizens are urged to cooperate with police officers during security checks. Islamabad Police is taking all necessary measures to ensure the protection of life and property of the citizens.
