Over 9000 violators penalized, 2500 vehicles impounded

ISLAMABAD: Following the special directives of Inspector General of Police (IGP) Islamabad Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, the Islamabad Traffic Police carried out special operations from October 1st to October 4th against traffic rules violators across the federal capital following the expiration of the deadline.


During this time, actions were taken against over 9,000 drivers for violating traffic laws. More than 2,500 motorcycles and vehicles were impounded at various police stations, and FIRs were also registered against them.
The violations included 411 for lane violations, 346 for running red lights and using non-standard number plates, 42 for underage driving, 273 for double riding, 84 for driving without a license and as well as various other traffic violations.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Capt. (retd) Hamzah Humayun, urged all drivers to act responsibly and comply with traffic laws to avoid legal consequences. He emphasized that driving without a license is a danger to both the driver and others on the road.
He further stated that the Islamabad Traffic Police will not allow anyone to jeopardize the safety of citizens. This campaign is for your safety and the safety of other citizens, he added.
Maintaining a well-regulated traffic system in the federal capital and ensuring the provision of better travel facilities for citizens remain top priorities for the Islamabad Traffic Police.
