RAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Women’s University organized an inter-university coin and stamp design competition on the theme of “Pak-China Friendship: Cultural and Strategic Relations”, in which students actively highlighted Pakistan-China historical ties in a creative manner.
Competition results showed Khansa bint Babar, a students of Rawalpindi Women’s University, won the first position in coin designing, while Hafiza Sajal Tobia Noor won the first position in stamp designing. A jury panel consisting of senior art teachers and experts evaluated all the entries on the basis of artistic skill, relevance to the theme and creative innovation. All participants were awarded e-certificates in recognition of their participation.
The competition was organized under the instructions of the Higher Education Department, with the objective of promoting awareness, creative expression and intercultural harmony among the young generation in the context of Pak-China friendship.
Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Bushra Mirza (Pride of Performance, Medal of Distinction) said that the 75 years of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and China reflect a strong foundation of mutual trust, respect and continuous cooperation. This partnership has expanded over time into various fields, with education, culture and public relations prominent. Creative activities of this nature not only highlight this long-standing friendship but also provide students with opportunities for intercultural understanding and positive expression.
Dr. Huma Rauf, registrar of the university, while appreciating the efforts of the students, said that competitions of this nature promote self-confidence, critical thinking and creative expression in the students. –Agencies
