Pak-China strengthen rescue partnership

LAHORE: The 9th Pakistan International Volunteer CERTs Challenge 2025 concluded on December 5 at the Emergency Services Academy in Lahore, marking a step forward in international humanitarian cooperation.
The event featured an outstanding performance by China’s Blue Sky Rescue Foundation, whose 18-member team showcased exceptional skills while contributing to a broader dialogue and partnership between the two nations.
Demonstrating remarkable speed and precision, the Chinese team secured third place overall among the 63 participating teams. They set a new competition record for the fastest completion time and achieved a perfect score in the medical response module, highlighting the expertise of China’s civil emergency rescue sector.
Held to coincide with the 40th International Volunteer Day, this year’s event carried the theme “Every Contribution Matters,” reflecting the spirit of volunteerism and international solidarity. The competition was designed around high-fidelity disaster simulations to test the integrated response capabilities of community emergency teams while creating a platform for mutual learning and exchange of expertise.
Dr. Rizwan Naseer, Founder and Director General of the Emergency Services Academy and Mr. Zhang Yong, Founder and Chief Commander of Blue Sky Rescue agreed to enhance bilateral cooperation through continued training programs.
A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed to lay the foundation for continued humanitarian collaboration. –Agencies
