Pakistan could play 2 spinners in first England Test: Misbah

Manchester: Pakistan head coach Misbah-ul-Haq has hinted that there is a possibility of playing with two spinners in the first Test against England at Old Trafford, Manchester, starting from August 5.
Shaheens have named three spinners Yasir Shah, Kashif Bhatti and Shadab Khan in their 20-member squad for the three-Test series.
“We are considering the option of playing two spinners and will decide after looking at the pitch and the weather conditions today and tomorrow. Yes, it is a possibility and an encouraging sign for us,” Misbah said while talking to the reporters.
Misbah stated that the pitch and weather conditions might be favoring Pakistan but still, we have to execute our plans to win against England in their own backyard.
“It’s a confidence booster for the team when conditions are favoring you but the only guarantee of a win is when we will play good cricket. The English team is not easy on their own soil but we have a good chance to win,” he added.
Misbah in awe of Pakistan’s limited-overs captain Babar Azam said that he likes to take challenges and always responds well to the opportunity.
“Looking at his stats in all formats, his performances are getting better day by day and hopefully, he will play well here too,” he maintained.
The national team is in England for more than a month now as they were initially at New Road, Worcester and at Derbyshire’s Incora County Ground for their training and practice. Misbah believes that the team is adjusted to the conditions.
“Overall satisfied with the preparation. We started from zero after being away from cricket due to COVID-19. The team is in good shape and looking forward to go in the series on the back of good practice,” he maintained.
