Karachi: On the instructions of the Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Hindu Council and Member of the National Assembly, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, the patriotic Hindu community across the country has given a three-day ultimatum to the Indian Defence Minister to withdraw his controversial statement.
In this regard, an impressive protest demonstration was held on Thursday outside the Karachi Press Club led by Pakistan Hindu Council President, Parshotam Ramani. On the occasion, senior office bearers of the Pakistan Hindu Council including Vikram Rathi, Parman Lal, and Chief Coordinator Kirshan Sagar, along with a large number of representatives of civil society, students, and members of the media from various fields, were also present.
The protesters were holding banners and placards inscribed with slogans such as “Long Live Pakistan,” “Sindh is Our Motherland,” and condemning the Indian Defence Minister’s statement.
Addressing the protesters, President Parshotam Ramani said that today’s protest is the first phase of their three-day protest campaign. He stated that the patriotic Sindhi Hindu community residing in Karachi is deeply outraged by the statement of the Indian Defence Minister. He said that Shri Rajnath Singh has challenged their patriotism towards Pakistan, and they want to convey the message of their leader, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, to the entire world community that every Hindu citizen living in Sindh considers Pakistan as their motherland.
He strongly condemned the irresponsible, provocative and factually incorrect statement by a person holding such an important office in a neighboring country. He further demanded that the Modi government should officially disassociate itself from Rajnath Singh’s statement and take action against him.
On this occasion, Chief Coordinator Kirshan Sagar, while talking to the media, said that Sindh is an inseparable part of Pakistan and the statement of the Indian Defence Minister is not only completely against facts but also a clear violation of international law, the United Nations Charter, and global diplomatic norms.
Participants of the protest reiterated Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani’s demand that the Indian Defence Minister should immediately withdraw his irresponsible statement. They also urged the Government of Pakistan to take effective notice of the statement at the diplomatic level and inform the international community about India’s unjustified provocation.
The Pakistan Hindu Council also announced that its second major protest will be held on Friday at Swaminarayan Mandir, Soldier Bazaar, and the third protest will be held on Saturday at Teen Talwar, Karachi.
Meanwhile, the protesters enthusiastically supported the proposal that if the Modi government fails to restrain its Defence Minister and he does not withdraw his provocative statement within three days, then a sit-in protest should be announced in front of the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.
Appreciating the peaceful conduct of the protesters, President Parshotam Ramani said that a detailed report of the three-day protest campaign will be presented to the Managing Committee of the Pakistan Hindu Council in its meeting to be held next week. He added that the final decision regarding future actions has been entrusted to the Patron-in-Chief, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Vankwani. –PR
