LAHORE: Pakistan’s junior team has qualified for Junior Hockey World Cup, pencilled in from November 24 to December 5 in India.
According to the details, the top four Asian teams including Pakistan have got the direct qualification to the mega event after Junior Asia Cup was postponed due to COVID-19. The other three teams include India, Malaysia and Korea.
Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF)’s secretary Asif Bajwa said they will organize a camp for players after a meeting with Asian Hockey Federation (AHF). “Unfortunately, Junior Asia Cup couldn’t happen due to COVID-19 but this qualification means to us. We will make sure proper training facilities should be provided to our players for their preparations,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Junior hockey team’s head coach Danish Kaleem said that the players are given a plan for physical fitness and training for mega event’s preparations.
