Christchurch: Captain Rohail Nazir’s unbeaten knock, complimented by Hussain Talat led Pakistan Shaheens to beat Canterbury by seven wickets at Lincoln.
Rohail scored 39-ball 69 while Hussain made 35-ball 53. Both remained not out and added 115 run-stand for the fourth wickets.
Shaheens chased down the target of 170 in 18.1 overs. Canterbury’s Sean Davey and Black Coburn bagged a wicket each.
Earlier, the home side scored 169 for the loss of five wickets in their allotted overs. HJ Chamberian was the top scorer, smashing 66* while T. Lortan made 51.
For Shaheens, Haris Rauf took 2-36 while Usman Qadir was most economical with 1-20. Amad Butt also claimed a wicket each.
It must be noted Pakistan Shaheens lost the first two T20 matches of the tour. Northern Districts won by 21 runs while Wellington Firebirds hammered Shaheens by nine wickets.
Pakistan Shaheens to play their fourth T20 match against New Zealand XI on January 3.
