-Turkish Commander calls on COAS, Chairman JCSC lauds Pakistan’s Armed Forces’ professionalism
RAWALPINDI: Commander Turkish Land Forces General Musa Avsever called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at General Headquaerts (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Tuesday and hold delegation-level talks.
During the meeting, matters of mutual and professional interests with special emphasis on defence and security collaboration betwee the two brotherly countries, were discussed, said a statement issued by the ISPR.
COAS said that Pakistan highly values its brotherly relations with Turkey which are deeply rooted in history and entrenched in the cultural and religious affinities. Both sides agreed to further optimize military to military ties particularly in training and counter-terrorism domains.
The visiting dignitary acknowledged the professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and vowed to enhance cooperation in various fields. He also pledged to play his role for further improvements in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels.
Later, General Musa Avsever called on General Nadeem Raza, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee, at Joint Staff Headquarters, Rawalpindi.
Besides security and regional issues, particularly the latest development in Afghanistan, matters relating to enhancing the level and scope of bilateral military engagements and cooperation were discussed.
Both sides reaffirmed the commitment; that being ‘all-weather’ friends, Pakistan and Turkey would continue to forge deeper strategic ties. They agreed that both countries share great history of cordial relations and deep spirit of brotherhood which is being transformed into enduring partnership.
Chairman JCSC said that in pursuit of a closer military and strategic cooperation both countries share a common perception on all national and international issues.
The dignitary lauded the high professionalism of Pakistan Armed Forces and acknowledged their sacrifices in fight against terrorism.
Chairman JCSC thanked visiting dignitary for acknowledging Pakistan Defence Forces achievements in war against terrorism, sacrifices and contribution for regional peace and stability. –ISPR
