The National Assembly will once again start a general debate on the federal budget presented by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government on June 11.
Last week on Friday, the treasury benches chanted slogans against the Leader of the Opposition Shehbaz Sharif, preventing him to address the Parliament. NA Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri adjourned the session until June 17 (today) when the session was disrupted by the parliamentarians.
In the previous session, as soon as the opposition leader stood up to address the lower house, the treasury bench protested against the opposition. On the deputy speaker’s insistence, Shehbaz tried many times to start his speech amid the ruckus. However, the leader could only say a few words when he was interrupted again by the parliamentarians.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz President has called a parliamentary meeting of its NA members to discuss the political situation in the country and the budget. The meeting will devise a strategy for the budget session.
