Passing out parade of ASPs held at NPA

ISLAMABAD: An impressive Passing Out Parade of the Assistant Superintendents of Police (Under Training) of the 27th Initial Command Course (ICC) / 51st Specialized Training Programme (STP) was held at the National Police Academy (NPA), Islamabad.
The Honorable Minister of Interior of the Republic of Türkiye, His Excellency Mr. Ali Yerlikaya, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In his address, the Chief Guest congratulated all graduating officers on the successful completion of their training and appreciated the role of the NPA in preparing professional officers for the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP).
His Excellency emphasized the pivotal role of law enforcement agencies in ensuring national stability and socio-economic progress. He lauded the sacrifices of the Police Service of Pakistan in the fight against terrorism and in maintaining law and order. The Chief Guest also reaffirmed the strong bond of friendship and brotherhood between Pakistan and Türkiye.
Earlier, Mr. Muhammad Idrees Ahmed, Commandant NPA, in his welcome address, expressed his gratitude to the Chief Guest for his presence and extended congratulations to the graduating officers. He informed that the passing-out batch comprised 18 officers, including eight lady officers. He highlighted that the course marked the culmination of an intensive 18-month training program covering police management, criminal justice administration, law enforcement, community policing, crime management, policing by objectives, physical conditioning, and field exposure to real-time policing.
The Commandant stated that the National Police Academy continuously updates its curriculum to align with the latest research and modern policing trends. Officers are sensitized on public dealing, police–media relations, security management, and protection of vulnerable groups. The course also includes specialized anti-terrorism training for Assistant Superintendents of Police. He further added that the NPA’s mission is to provide quality training not only to ASPs but also to personnel from all segments of law enforcement, including the Frontier Constabulary, FIA, Intelligence Bureau, and provincial Rangers. The Academy regularly conducts capacity-building courses tailored to the evolving challenges of policing and security management.
In his concluding remarks, the Commandant commended the graduating officers, selected purely on merit by the Federal Public Service Commission, and expressed confidence that they will serve as a source of pride for the nation through their dedication and professionalism. The Chief Guest later reviewed the smartly turned-out parade and awarded trophies to the best performers in various categories:

A large number of serving and retired police officers, representatives from government departments, foreign diplomats, and families of the graduating officers attended the ceremony.
