ISLAMABAD: The PBC and DigiLawyer, an artificial intelligence-powered legal research and drafting platform, on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote accessible legal research, AI literacy and legal technology training for lawyers and law students across Pakistan.
The agreement recognises DigiLawyer as the “Trusted Law Site of Pakistan” endorsed by the PBC and aims to expand access to legal research tools and artificial intelligence training within the country’s legal community.
The MoU was signed by Munir A Malik, Chairman of the PBC Executive Committee, and Muhammad Danish Ghaffar, Chief Executive Officer of Codxperts Solutions (Private) Limited, which operates DigiLawyer.
Under the agreement, enrolled advocates and law students will receive free access to DigiLawyer’s public law site.
Registered PBC advocates will also be eligible for a 25 per cent discount on monthly Pro subscriptions for the first three months and a 30 per cent discount on annual Pro subscriptions.
The partnership will also facilitate a nationwide AI and Legal Technology Literacy Programme through provincial bar councils. Law students will have opportunities to participate in AI training sessions and access the platform free of charge through the PBC’s Directorate of Legal Education.
Speaking on the occasion, Danish Ghaffar said DigiLawyer was designed to meet the legal research and drafting needs of Pakistan’s legal profession.
“Pakistan’s advocates should not have to pay to read Pakistan’s law,” he said, adding that the agreement would make free legal research accessible to the legal community while strengthening AI skills from bar associations to law schools.
Munir A Malik said artificial intelligence was a necessity for the future and appreciated the company’s efforts to introduce technology-driven solutions for the legal profession.
Advocate Sarfraz Ali Metlo, Dean Faculty, Karachi, and former President of the Sindh High Court Bar Association, along with Advocate Ahsan Bhoon and Advocate Saqib Akram Gondal, were also present on the occasion.
