Karachi: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has started to consider various options for holding Pakistan Super League (PSL) season six remaining matches.
According to sources, the current situation of Pakistan is worrying for PCB officials and it has been decided to review the situation in the next few days.
There is no other possible window this year to complete the tournament due to the international commitments of Pakistan men’s cricket team.
PCB can also consider the option of shifting the remaining matches to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Karachi while franchises are also interested to move the league to UAE.
Franchises have also sent a letter to the board last week. The franchises are worried over the current COVID-19 situation in Pakistan.
Remember, PSL 6 will resume from June 1 with teams undergoing a mandatory seven-day quarantine period.
Meanwhile, PCB official said that they are in constant touch with the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) and further decisions will be taken as per NCOC’s guidelines. “The decision to hold the remaining matches in Karachi was also taken after consulting NCOC while PCB is monitoring current situation,” PCB official said.
“PSL matches will be held in Karachi as per schedule,” he added.
It must be noted a replacement draft took place last week after various players were unavailable for the remaining matches in June.
