PCB rescheduled Pakistan vs Bangladesh one-off ODI

Bureau Report

Lahore: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), on a special request of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), has rescheduled one-off ODI between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
According to the details, BCB wanted to give its players ample time before the second and last Test, starting from April 5 in Karachi between the two teams. According to the new schedule, the only one day will take place on April 1 instead of 3 at the same venue.
It must be noted here that Bangladesh had split its Pakistan tour into three phases. They first came to Lahore to play three T20Is followed by the first Test in Rawalpindi from February 7.
Now, Bangladesh will arrive in Karachi on March 29 where they will play an ODI on April 1 and last Test of two matches series from April 5-9.
Updated schedule:
29 March – Bangladesh team’s arrival in Karachi
30-31 March – Practice
1 April – Only One-Day International, National Stadium
2-4 April – Practice
5-9 April – 2nd ICC World Test Championship Test, National Stadium.
Meanwhile, The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will be holding talks with the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as they are closely looking at the situation created due to coronavirus outbreak before making a final decision on the last phase of their team’s tour of Pakistan.
Bangladesh have to play one-off ODI and a Test match next month in Karachi, the BCB media committee chairman Jalal Yunus told to Cricbuzz that the safety of the players come first and they will not take lightly at any cost.
“For us, players’ safety comes as the first priority and we are not going to compromise with it at any cost,” Jalal Yunus said.
Jalal further confirmed that they will talk to PCB in this regard but it is too early to make a final call.
“We will talk in this regard with PCB and if we see that there is any concern then certainly we will not send our team to Pakistan. But at the moment it is too early to make a final decision as we still have time on our hands,” he added.
It must be noted that five cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Pakistan until now, two in Karachi.
