Lahore: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chief Executive Wasim Khan has thanked Pakistan’s 44-member squad on the completion of a challenging, demanding, and unprecedented tour of England.
The national men’s cricket team toured England during COVID-19 time that made the players and staff adhere to strict protocols, including restricted movement during their two-month long tour.
“On behalf of the PCB, I am grateful to each and every player and support staff personnel for their extraordinary display of courage, sacrifice and dedication for the resumption of cricket during extremely tough and uncertain times,” Wasim said in a statement released by the PCB.
“It has made me extremely proud that these men raised their hands for this unusual two-and-a-half-month-long journey despite an option to withdraw from it due to grave Covid-19 situation at their destination,” he added.
He also thanked the English and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) for their hospitality and looking forward to working with them on England’s tour of Pakistan in 2022.
“I also want to take this opportunity to thank the ECB for providing over-the-top hospitality to our team. They were looked after really well and were provided top-notch facilities,” he maintained.
“We will now look forward to working closely with ECB in the coming months to plan their tour to Pakistan in 2022,” he concluded.
It must be noted that after taking part in the three-match Test series and as many T20Is, players and staff will be returning this evening from England.
