PDM aims to oust govt

THOUSANDS gathered in the city of Gujranwala under umbrella of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) to protest the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan, hoping it will be able to take advantage of rising prices and other frustrations to overthrow the government. The Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), an alliance of 11 opposition parties, including the Pakistan Muslim League’s Nawaz (PML-N), the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), and the Jamiat Ulema Islam’s Fazl (JUI-F), from each of those main opposition parties addressed the gathering, including PML-N chief Nawaz Sharif, PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, and JUI-F chief Fazl-ur-Rehman. Former three time prime minister, Nawaz Sharif accused the army chief, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, of toppling his government, pressuring the judiciary, and installing Imran Khan in the 2018 elections. Maryam Nawaz, his daughter, also addressed the gathering and said “governments should come from your votes and go from your votes as well and no one should have the power to throw them out of office.
PPP chief Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that to end corruption, we need to have across the board accountability. “If there is an accusation, then there should definitely be an investigation on a former prime minister or a president. But if there is an accusation against a general or a judge, then we must investigate that as well” added Bilawal. The pages of this newspaper have been filled with corruption stories of Nawaz Sharif since last three decades but this nation has continued seeing him till last night. And only Allah knows till when Pakistani nation will bear seeing him. A government owned property was sold in Lahore Cantt by by the then provincial minister Punjab, Nawaz Sharif in the early eighties but he still managed to become Chief Minister of Punjab. LDA scandal, Sugar Mill scandal, Raiwand land scandal, Tax scandal, dollars related State Bank scandal, Taxis scandal, and many more scandals have appeared on the pages on this same newspaper, The Frontier Post but Nawaz Sharif despite conviction from court was allowed to travel aboard. Whose decision was that? Those who made this decision did not know that Nawaz Sharif loves his wealth more than Pakistan? How many more evidence do they need to accept the fact that this man never deserved to become prime minister of Pakistan.
