ISLAMABAD: An important meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) steering committee will be held Monday (today) to discuss protest outside Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and future plan of action. As per details, PDM President Maulana Fazlur Rehman would chair the meeting at his residence and all concerned members have been directed to ensure the attendance. The meeting will review arrangements for protest outside the ECP headquarters on Tuesday in Islamabad.
On the other hand, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique on Sunday said that Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) does not want to send government packing to form its own government instead it aims to restore democracy in the country.
Talking to media persons, the former Railways Minister said that this is first government which is trying to spread unrest in the country. He vowed to continue their struggle through platform of PDM.
The PML-N leader said that a dictatorship has been imposed in the country under the guise of democracy. PTI damaged image of Pakistan internationally with incidents like seizure of PIA plane by Malaysian authorities and fake pilot license issue, he added.
He also asked government to stop political revenge in the name of accountability and warned that if government did not end the practice, PTI will also get taste of its own medicine.
He strongly reacted to arrest of Khawaja Asif and said that there is no connection between accountability and these arrests and claimed that soon the PML-N will be vindicated.
