Pehle Salam, Phir Kalam: CTO briefs traffic officers on public interaction

ISLAMABAD: Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad, Capt. (R) Hamzah Humayun has instructed all traffic police officers to adopt a positive attitude towards the public. He emphasized that any rude or inappropriate behavior towards citizens will not be tolerated.
According to details, CTO Islamabad briefed traffic police officers at the Traffic Police Headquarters. He issued clear instructions, urging officers to always maintain the dignity and respect of their profession while interacting with the public. He also instructed officials to treat citizens with utmost courtesy, good manners, and politeness, adhering strictly to the “Pehle Salam, Phir Kalam” policy.
He further stated that traffic police officers should never engage in rude or disrespectful behavior with citizens. The primary objective of ITP is not only to enforce laws but also to ease the lives of citizens and resolve their problems.
He emphasized that officers should not only enforce traffic laws but also educate the public about these laws, helping them understand how to comply and stay safe, thus preventing accidents.
CTO Islamabad also stressed that during peak hours, officers should manage traffic efficiently to provide the public with better travel facilities. He highlighted the use of modern technology to create new strategies and improve traffic flow.
CTO Hamzah Humayun emphasized that every traffic police officer represents Islamabad Police, and their behavior and performance reflect the entire department. He urged officers to present a positive and trustworthy image of the department to the public, thereby strengthening public trust in the force.
He concluded by stating that the success of Islamabad Police depends on how well they gain public trust through their behavior, performance, and services.
He instructed officers to improve their conduct and set an exemplary standard through their work, ensuring that Islamabad Police’s reputation is enhanced and public trust is further solidified.
