LAHORE: The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) has written a letter to the National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) for vaccination of their players against COVID-19. According to PHF’s secretary – Asif Bajwa, they have decided to vaccinate players, officials and their families following upcoming international commitments of junior and senior teams.
“We have written a letter to NCOC for vaccination of our players against COVID-19,” Bajwa shared. “Our junior and senior teams have international commitments coming up, so we thought it is important to vaccinate our players against this widely-spread virus,” he said. The secretary said their junior team will be preparing strongly for Junior Asia Cup in July. “Our junior team has to participate in the Asia Cup this June. We will be having tough preparations for the team to contest a strong squad in the event,” he said while adding that top-four teams in Asia Cup will qualify for Junior World Cup, scheduled in December 2021 in India.

“We are planning to hold matches for senior and junior teams in Ramadan to give players an opportunity to get ready for upcoming events,” Bajwa concluded.
