RAWALPINDI: To mark the “Right to Self-Determination Day” of Kashmir, a photo exhibition was organized at Punjab Arts Council (PAC) on Thursday.
Chairperson, Peace & Culture organization Mushal Hussain Malik who was the chief guest of the inaugural ceremony speaking to media on the occasion said that Instead of giving Kashmiris their inalienable right to self-determination, India has turned its illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir into a prison where death continues. She said, “Even after 75 years, Kashmiris are still standing where they were in 1948. Fascist Modi’s conspiracy to turn Kashmiris into a minority by building new settlements in the occupied valley is continuing. Despite being the target of all the Indian atrocities, the Kashmiri people are shouting the slogan of Pakistan Zindabad.”
Mushal Hussain said that the United Nations should increase pressure on India to implement its resolutions on Kashmir. Another year of Indian cruelty and brutality has passed in Occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Let’s pray that 2023 will be the year of freedom from Indian rule for Kashmiris, she added.
Speaking on the occasion, Director Arts Council Waqar Ahmed said that the United Nations Security Council had passed a resolution on January 5, 1949, in which the right of self-determination of Kashmiris was recognized. He said that according to the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council, they will have the right to decide their future. But despite the passage of 75 years, Kashmiris have been deprived of this right, he said adding the Islamic Ummah and the whole of Pakistan stands with the Kashmiris. A large number of people from the neighboring cities participated in the exhibition.
