Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has directed the Ministry of Inter-Provincial Coordination (IPC) to start preparations for 14th South Asian Games, scheduled in Pakistan.
A meeting on hosting South Asian Games was chaired by PM Khan which was also attended by Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa, IPC Minster Fehmida Mirza and other officials.
Prime Minister has also directed to form a steering committee on the South Asian Games while he has also addressed all concerned agencies, including the Prime Minister’s Office, to extend full cooperation for the organization of the Games.
“The security situation in Pakistan is excellent No country should have a problem playing in Pakistan. The best security will be provided to all players and officials,” PM Khan said.
Imran Khan also instructed to improve all infrastructure, including grounds, for hosting the South Asian Games.
Note, Pakistan had previously hosted the South Asian Games in 1989 and 2004.
