PM Imran, COAS meet to discuss national security


The prime minister and army chief met before the national security council’s session.
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan met with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa to discuss matters related to national security.

PM Imran apprised the army chief of his recent official visit to China.

Following the meeting with COAS Bajwa, Prime Minister Imran Khan chaired a National Security Council (NSC) session.

Official informed media that the country’s law and order along with the security situation of the region were discussed.
The prime minister also informed those attending of his recent visit to China, including his meetings with President Xi Jinping and Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.
PM Imran returned last night from a five-day visit to China. PM Imran said his meetings with Chinese President Xi Jinping and his counterpart Li Keqiang had given him even more confidence that Pakistan would be able to get out of the current economic crisis.
