Islamabad: Prime Minister Imran Khan has assured that his government will work for lifting the status of national game hockey in the country.
Former captain of national hockey team Islahuddin met the cricketer-turned-politician at Prime Minister.
They both discussed the current status of hockey in the country and also the ways to rescue the national game. PM Khan showed concerns over the current situation of hockey and assured the former Olympian to plan something special to lift hockey.
It must be noted here that four-time world champions Pakistan saw debacle after uncertain politics within the Pakistan Hocket Federation (PHF). Recently, Pakistan face suspension by the Federation of International Hockey (FIH) for not participating in the Pro Hockey League. The suspension was lifted after successful talks held between both parties.
