LAHORE: Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) has postponed the written examination for Provincial Management Service (PMS) due to the deteriorating political situation of the country.
According to an announcement on Friday by the PPSC spokesperson, the PMS exam was scheduled to commence on May 16.
The spokesperson said that PPSC has canceled the written test examination due to the current situation in major cities of Pakistan including Islamabad, and Rawalpindi. The written test, scheduled for May 16 is hereby deferred, the spokesperson said, adding that the fresh date will be shared later. Inconvenience is regretted.
The decision to defer PMS exams comes amid violent protests across country in the aftermath of PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest by National Accountability Bureau (NAB) in an alleged corruption case.
Later, the PTI Chief was presented before the Supreme Court on Thursday where he was given a chance to appear at Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday.
Yesterday, the High Court granted Imran Khan bail for two weeks and order authorities not to arrest the PTI Chief an any other case till May 17. Khan was at the IHC for hours after he decided to stay within the court’s premises till he got a written verdict of his bail as he feared that the police might arrest him again once he got out. –Agencies
